Largest US Measles Outbreak in 25 Years

May 2019 - a piece I put together when the measles outbreak reached a 25-year high in 2019.

Greenville, SC - The number of measles cases in the United States is now the highest it has been in 25 years. On Monday the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced there have been 620 cases so far the year. Read the full writing sample here.

Asheville Bird Sanctuary Compromised

June 2019 - This writing sample is of a complicated story I had to make understandable to the average person, while also making sure all the facts were correct.

Asheville, NC - A bird sanctuary is compromised after an attempt to fix a sinkhole in Asheville. The sinkhole began forming along Merrimon Avenue on June 19th because of a failing water pipe. Asheville city officials say because the sinkhole formed on private property, it is the property owners’ responsibility to fix it. Read the full writing sample here.
